The entire Gatara community is working on the construction of the parish hall, which is to be completed in 2028 on the 100th anniversary of the parish of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus. The building is being constructed entirely from materials from demolitions, because in the poorest country in the world, acquiring new building materials is unimaginably expensive. However, expensive cement is needed to bind the bricks together, the purchase of which was co-financed from the Father Andrzej Lemieszko Memorial Fund. The Gatara community is very grateful for the support shown.

year 2024

Theology students in Kayanza, in northern Burundi, are mainly clergy from various church institutes and lay catechists who replace priests in mission areas. Their rector, Fr. Karol Muyange, whom the Founders of the foundation met personally during MISJONERA 2024, asked for help in equipping his students with catechisms and Bibles. The project was financed from the Fr. Andrzej Lemieszko Memorial Fund.

FR. ANDRZEJ LEMIESZKO MEMORIAL FUND

The Memorial Fund is a "living monument" commemorating a wonderful man, a holy priest, a friend of missions and the poor in Africa, Fr. Andrzej Lemieszko - chaplain of the Children of Africa Foundation in 2010-2024.

The idea of a "living monument" was born on the day of the funeral of Father Andrzej Lemieszko on March 12, 2024, when, at the initiative of the priest's family, a spontaneous campaign was launched "instead of flowers and candles, a donation to the Children of Africa Foundation, of which the deceased priest was a pastor". And so the first amount of PLN 7,223 was transferred to the foundation's account, which the Board allocated to co-financing the construction of a parish hall in Gatara named after the Children of Africa, to be used to organize meetings for children, youth and parish groups, in the diocese of Ngozi in the Republic of Burundi - the poorest country in the world.

Financial resources accumulated throughout the year in the fund sub-account are distributed for missionary purposes, on each anniversary of the death of the foundation's chaplain, by the fund's social committee, which includes representatives of the family, the local community and the foundation, including its chaplain.
